The building, as seen today, was designed by Juan de Oviedo. Founded in 1295 by nuns from the Order of Saint Augustine. Construction work was finally completed at the end of the 16th Century. Access is through an interior door that dates from 1729, with a small Baroque altarpiece dedicated to Santa Rita built in the second quarter of the 18th Century.
