Currently the Presidency of the Andalusian Regional Government or Junta de Andalucía, construction work on the Seminary College of the University of Mareantes began in 1682 upon land belonging to the Court of the Inquisition. The Seminary College gave both shelter and an education to the orphans of sailors. It is one of the most emblematic buildings of Seville Baroque architecture.
